Hats off to all the teachers!
Since COVID 19, I've had to endeavor to fill the role of teacher to a 7-year-old with some special needs. I can vouch that it is one of the most difficult jobs I've ever done. The days are long, the work is tedious, and trying to keep such a child focused on the task at hand is quite difficult.
I'm sure there must be others who can relate. At least, I'd like to think I'm not alone in my frustrations and exhaustion.
So with all of this going on each day, how are women who are running small businesses able to meet their goals?
Honestly, I don't know.
The other day I managed to slip away for an hour, laptop in tow, and work from my car. Crazy. Right?
I drove to McDonald's and parked near the building to tap into their free WiFi.
It worked. I worked. I felt like Cinderella escaping to the ball! Yay!
The best part? I wasn't the only one doing it. Lol. That made me feel so much better.
I started with a little prayer of thanks and a big prayer that school will be able to start this fall and I can finally return to my business. At least for now, I was able to upload some images to my fledgling online store. It was a great feeling to accomplish even that small item from my endless to-do list.
In fact, I may do it again!
You can track my progress with my little online shop by clicking my shop link below. I hope you will enjoy what I have to share. It's the beginning of something I hope will grow over time–during my brief getaways from taking up the teaching torch.
One Queen's Realm is a collection of products made especially for book enthusiasts. Below are a few images of what I've been creating.
BEATRIX is a soap made from a base of carrot, cucumber, and aloe. It's embedded with dandelion botanicals and has a refreshing green tea and cucumber fragrance.
PRIDE & PREJUDICE GARDEN WALK
This coconut-soy candle is reminiscent of a walk through an English garden of bygone days. It's such a relaxing scent and perfect for a little retreat to replenish your energy.
